About Jeanne’

Jeanne’ is the founder and principal architect at JT Arch.  She completed her Masters in Architecture at the University of the Free State.  Following the completion of her studies, she worked in the offices of Burger and Fourie Architects in Bloemfontein where she learned the basics of the profession and industry.  Jeanne’ had the opportunity to work as a florist, obtaining many helpful skills during this time.  She and her husband then lived in Scotland for a while, after which she had the privilege to start a small design business and became the mother of 3 daughters, before stepping into the world of being a Professional Architect in South Africa.

Jeanne’ is a born enthusiast, encourager and visionary.  Dreaming big for her clients come naturally.  Combine this with her passion for life, design and people, and you are set up for an adventure.  She enjoys anything local, sustainable and honest.  Jeanne’ is a firm believer that collaboration is a tool to bring enhancement and set people/businesses/projects up for success.  She has also recently completed the UGREEN course in Sustainable Architectural Design.

  • What do you do in your spare time?: I enjoy running, horse riding and cooking for my family. I’m also constantly trying to make time to be in or near the ocean, forest or sky.
  • What is something you dislike?: Wasted space and anything ‘fake’.
  • What 3 words would describe you as a person?: passionate, joyful, thankful.
  • What 3 words would describe you as an Architect?: Minimal, Celebratory, Individual.

‘I have been challenged in this industry to really determine and define what being a ‘successful Architect’ means to me and my firm.  I have developed a design approach that is focused on the beautiful balance between clients’ dreams, practical spatial requirements and budgetary boundaries, while consciously pursuing sustainable and innovative design solutions.’’
